Michael Alan Sain, 53, of Hilliard, Fla., joined his Savior on Christmas Day, December 25, 2018.
Michael was a member of the First Baptist Church of Callahan. He was born in Jacksonville, Fla. May 1, 1965, to Donnie L. Sain and Antionette Ruby Sain, who is now deceased.
Michael proudly served his country as a Marine Lance Corporal, completing boot camp at Parris Island. He received certification as an explosives driver and was stationed overseas in Okinawa, the Philippines, Korea and Japan.
Michael truly admired all military veterans and participated as the VFW Post Commander from 2011-14 and was a charter member of the American Legion Post 401. After leaving the service, Michael worked in various positions in the trucking business, construction and as an equipment operator.
Michael is survived by his father, Donnie L. Sain (Janice); his sister, Melissa Bibbs (Andrew); stepbrother Cliff Riddle (Sabine); his grandmother Edna Sain (Don D. Sain, deceased); his Aunt Jeannette West (Richard West, deceased) and his uncle Roger Sain (Peggy).
Michael loved his many cousins, nephews and nieces on both sides of the family and had many, many cherished friends.

Following the chapel services, an escort led family and friends to the Jacksonville National Cemetery on Lannie Road at 2:30 p.m., where services continued. Condolences may be expressed at www.callahanfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to “Boots on the Ground.” Following the cemetery service, VFW Post No. 10095 of Hilliard, across from the Hilliard Airpark, hosted refreshments in Michael Sain’s honor.
