Johnnie Martin, 78, of Hilliard, Fla. passed away March 1, 2018 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born July 28, 1939 in Griffin, Ga. to the late Boyd Watson Martin and Mary Emma Willoughby Martin. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. Mr. Martin was a member of the First Baptist Church of Boulougne.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Doug Martin and Dick Martin and sisters, Mary Dorrough and Carolyn Culverson.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeannie W. Martin; two children, Jonathan Eric (Kim) Martin and Jennifer Elizabeth Martin Pensa; seven grandchildren, Heather (Jeffery) Johnson, Kristin (Matt) Sauls, Aerial Pensa, Brianna (Tyler) Holliman, Brooke (Ross) Hobbs, Heather (Warren) Vining and Jenna Pensa; one sister, Jeannie (Roger) Culverson; one brother, Joseph Martin; eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
The family received friends Wednesday, March 7 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston, Ga. from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services are today, Thursday, March 8 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Lucas officiating. Memorialization is by cremation.
