Agnes Rowe Campbell, 81, passed away Aug. 27, 2018 at her home in Callahan surrounded by her family after an extended illness.
She was born on April 12, 1937 in Nassau County, where she lived all of her life. She was Baptist by faith and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
One of her greatest jobs in life was her love and support of family. She enjoyed going to the mountains in North Carolina and Tennessee, and looked forward to watching the horse races every year (Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes), along with classic westerns, gospel and country music. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Agnes is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Robert “Soupy” Campbell; her children, Gene Brandies, Jr., Theresa (Dewey) Franklin, Diane Hunt, Rhonda (Mark) Hamlin and stepchildren, Patricia Wolf, Vivian (John) Nuich, Bettina (Allen) Hammond and Robbie (Maria) Campbell, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew “AJ” and Elizabeth Rowe; sisters Gladys Jones and Edith Yarbrough; brother Glen Rowe, Sr. and son-in-law Zenous Geiger, Sr.
The family would like to express a special love and thanks to caregivers Maria Rivas and Tammie Sybelnik.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. in the chapel of Callahan Funeral Home with funeral services also held in the chapel Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Bill Tyler officiating. Interment followed in Mill Creek Cemetery in Nassau County.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Richard Geiger, J.D. Hunt, Issac Roth, Clint Geiger and Amos Geiger and stepson Robbie Campbell. Honorary pallbearers are Jamie Conner and great-great-grandsons Byron Geiger, Store Geiger, Mason Roth and Crew Conner.
